No doubt those of you who have a Nuvi 760 would have noticed the multitude of separate sections it saves when downloading the Track data to the PC,
Here is how you get it to show all as one continuous track of unlimited length, all you need to do is click EDIT / Select all / right click on tracks / and click on "Join the Selected Tracks"
If you have other tracks of the same journey saved , open a second page for Mapsource, open the previous saved track , on the left panel, select the track and copy it, go back the first open page and paste it under the first one , then Join the save tracks as per the first set,
I better stop before I forget where I was....

Simple answer to that would have to NO.

And even if you could, why when you can run T4A , & OzToppo V2 plus Contours ,
Was just talking to a Swedish Tourist with a Garmin handheld with T4A installed and he's totally wrapped with it.

Doug,
Just got back from points north and Oztoppo didn't perform as expected.

Not all the Mereenie Loop, Walkers Crossing and the Bore track shown or recognised. Not to mention the problems had in the Simpson with tracks not shown. A low level of confidence has been left and I am looking for a reliable package.

Cheers

Consider an ePC, Ozi Explorer, a GPS mouse and whatever maps you feel are appropriate for your needs.

Yes.... ask them to swap it for V2.1
Bore Track is on my copy , remember to that 1 you must have your GPS set to show MOST in the units settings plus some tracks don't show until zoom is under about 350m

I have gone right through the menu but can`t seem to find any information on Bread crumbing .

No problems .... this subject is like a hobby to me, the term Bread Crumbing is just a nickname, There is only one way to view the recorded track called Trip Log on the Nuvi 760 and that's to download it to Mapsource on the PC, If you have T4A on the PC with Trip and Waypoint Manager you can download the Trip Log to T4A and then save it to a folder , name the file ie from A to B ,
To delete the Trip Log , turn the unit on, press the tools, press down arrow, press Data, press Clear Trip Log ,

Thanks Doug,
I imagined that bread crumbing was used to back track to an initilal start point if perhaps you got lost in a maze of tracks.

But I guess if you were in caught in that situation you could store intersections or bends of tracks as waypoints during your journey then if lost you could return to the stored points by calling them up one at a time to be able to back track. As in my case I don`t have a laptop in the vehicle.

Although I don`t get lost everyday.

I hope T4A is a good mapping software being free makes me wonder.

Cheers

Or you could try Tools -->Settings -->Map -->Trip Log -->Show.
Works for me :-)

Of not much use though, just a blue line with no info, if it had Track Back would be handy.
You get much more info from the Trip Log on the PC.

Ok Doug, Definately not a tight arse.
But I initially bought :- ShonkyMaps Topographic map of Australia on 1GB Datacard for $15.
(Where I said I need an SD card and it saves me dowloading it.)

Then I thought I would also buy :- SM351 - Topographic maps on CD for $5.
(Simply for a backup dvd and also for T4A free )
http://www.octapc.com.au/category801_1.htm

Then they tell me that the shonky maps Datacard already comes with a backup CD with T4A free + Contours AU. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

Ok I did not Know there was a free version and a buy version of T4A . Have just found it on EBAY, T4A PRO for $45.

I`LL buy it
I am also considering OZTOPO. But I`ll try the others first.

Thanks again Doug.

I could do you CD with T4A for $20, I keep a copy of all CDs on the Hard Drive,
I did a properties on OzToppo V2.1 and not counting the Contours at 583 MB, the map data comes to 706 MB, .
I see Shonky maps are only 338mb, to me that tells me there must be much more data on Oztoppo

Hi Doug
I have just come back from a 8,500 km tour of Outback NSW and Qld driving one of two Oka's we took on Tour.

We travelled on gravel roads for the majority of time, through Stations and bush camped in isolated areas whenever possible.

My Garmin Nuvi 660 (Mapsourse v8 and T4A) was invaluable. I had signal 100% of the time and 100% of tracks with their names showed on the screen. I was amazed at how acurate the Nuvi 660 was. I really don't see why anyone would want any more information.

I have no doubt the Nuvi 760 has some improvements but for me the Nuvi 660 will do me for a few more years.

Incidently I purchased the Nuvi 660 last year on your advice and couldn't be happier.

With regards.
Ian
