Hi we did the Gibb and the Mitchell Falls in the last week the road is fine if you are willing to take it easy and not be in a hurry. We did the loop in 10 days including the Bungle Bungles with no damage to the Cruiser or us.

We expected it to be worst than it was by what we were told in Kunnunurra at the Info Centre. There were some horror storys told to us and we nearly didn't go but we are glad we did.

Funny how different the answers are. We did the Gibb and Kalumbaru Roads a month ago and I would say some parts were bad and the rest was worse. Particularly the section from the Gibb to the Mitchell Falls turnoff was bad and the section from that turnoff to the Mitchell falls was worse still. 3 hours to do 80 kms. There is a sign on the Mitchell Falls road saying it is not maintained! They are right. Have fun and take some spare shocks with you. We use OMU and one was stuffed by the time we got to Fitzroy Crossing. All worth it.

Hi Guys, you must have gone through just before the graders, we went through just over two weeks ago and it was a highway with the only bad bit on the Mitchell Falls track and that should be done by now as they where grading it when we went through. It was so good instead of going from Mitchell Falls to Drysdale River, we went right through to Kununurra in eight hours.
Have fun
