Just bought a 3.0TD GU Auto and absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!!!.
Just curious to know from other GU owners about fuel consumption. I get about 9 - 10kms to litre around town and open road (average) and about 6 to 6.5 kms to litre towing a van (1300 kgs pop top), sound about right or not???

Theres heaps in the archives about GU's and thier thirst or lack of. Search for GU & fuel or something like that,
mine gets about 10.5 to 13.5 l/100km depending on the stress its under, and averaged 14 from Vic to Fraser and back full load and roofrack.

GU 3.0TD Auto - 33000k in last seven months. Rookracks since new. Consistently get 12.5l/100km around town, and as good as 9.8l/100km on the highway with a load. Economy seems to have started improving after the first 20000km.

About 14/100km around town, roof bars and tools. actually achieved less than 10/100km towing a box trailer at about 95 with a tail wind once.

Sounds about right Mick. Reasonably good for such a small motor in a large 4wd I think.
