Very unusual.

Must be a mate of Bonz or Lucy.

I saw the Delltones at the Don Casino in 1982, but there was no dirt bar by then!
I was refused service at the Vic in 1982 because I had thongs on. I think the Vic has gone now.

I remember the competition as to who would have the first "blue" in the new bar at the Vic - must have been about 67.

In those days the Don was the "Blacks pub"

Hi Kingsley,

The Vic is still alive and well, still full of nice drunk people and backpackers these days.

OK Dave & Shelley that's good to hear.
I googled the Vic and came up with this impressive site
link
I think that what I may have heard was that the accommodation and private pool is now gone. It looks like a very young crowd! We lived in Darwin from 1982 to 1984. My God! that's 25 years ago.

Kingsley

Tempus fugit = Time flies

We spent time in Darwin 1968-71, then 1977-1982, then 1984-1992 then 1996-1997.

The place was a magnet. But in the end it got too hot for us and we moved down south. Now I wished we had stayed there...LOL

Had some happy times at the Vic Hotel.
