Rick (S.A.)
Have a dekko at Dave Phoenix's blog of his walk across Australia from
Melbourne to the Gulf.
This bloke knows more about Aussie history and the interior than the rest of us put together!

Hi Ruth,
Went for a drive the other day through the Gibson, Sandy, Great Sandy & Great Victoria deserts. Loverrly stuff, especially
the desert oak country in the
Gibson desert. I actually subb-ied - is that a word ? - for Andrew Dwyer - do you know him ? -I suspect you might.
Came home for about a month, and then camped two nights with a pack of ratbags in one of Edward John Eyre's sites in the bottom part of the
Flinders Ranges weekend before last.
How's life for the winter desert dwellers?
Bluddy cold down here.
Cheers
