I purchased the reversing Camera Kit from ABR , It comes complete with everything needed , Derek has a great product and EO members get a discount.
Thought I would post these photo's so other Troopie owners thinking about a rear view/Reverse Camera set up might get an idea from them,
I won't show the Caravan camera, we all know where they go, just the car was my issue, first I had the camera down low near the tow bar, I don't need a camera to hitch up but as a rear view camera I t was useless down there so I just finished re-positioning it to the left side roof bar, The monitor was unstable as
well so I fashioned up a bracket from a 90 deg angle I got from a hardware
shop, cut a bit off and rounded it off at the end where it attaches to the rear of the monitor , basically in the same slot that the mount uses , had to grind and flatten the top off the mini bolt so it would slide up the provided slot , after tightening everything I just kept a little pressure on it then put the self tappers in the dash, it's got no movement now,My whole set-up is hot wired , not connected to the reversing lamps ,

park close enough to the trailer and I know its there....! Maybe I could blame the drain I tripped in before I hit it!!

Hi Doug,
I just bought myself one too and only just started to fit it this afternoon. I've been thinking about how I was going to set
mine up on the dash and was going to simply use the bracket that comes with it. Problem with the jeep is it has a GPS right on top in the middle of everything which doesn't give me too much room on top of the dash. You've given me an idea with that bracket you made up, thanks.

Roscoe
The bracket that come with it actually sits on a shelf like bracket I had made up by a sheet metal
shop in Mt Isa, and it is atached to the plastic facia on the pod to the right of the fuel gauge, I had it made for a GPS Map 176 and it used to get a wobble up to, ... must remove the remnants of the bracket it had shown by the new one...lol...gunnado,
That's why I like the very basic but functional dash of the Landcruiser,

Unfortunately some manufacturers are getting away from the basics. The best place for my GPS would have been an intergration where the stereo is. I understand that Jeep is doing this with the latest models.

Hi all
I have also purchased a camera set from Sidewinder, I have shaped a piece of clear perspex that fits within the surrounds of the interior rear vision mirror and mounted the monitor to this. The whole thing is then attached to the rear vision mirror with some elastic band and velcro straps, it seems to stay there reasonablry
well. I hav'nt tried it in anger yet as I hav'nt finalised the wiring in the fifth wheeler, but not long before we leave.
Regards
Rocky
