Make sure to stop off in Forbes, the centre of the universe.

I'm heading to Tassie in early December and have pencilled in Forbes as a place to stay overnight as I head south from the Gold Coast. Any suggestions for accommodation? I probably won't put up my tent. The Lachlan View Big4 Park looks OK b?ut there might be a better deal somewhere else. I'm happy to stay in a pub.

The Big4 is not a bad spot, They have cabins. There are three other Caravan parks in town, the APEX is probably the best along with the Big 4

The Vandenberg Pub has rooms to let and they put on a decent meal as well.

Heaps of accommodation in town but gets booked out occasionally.

If you are tenting there is a free camp area on the lake in Lions Park. The lake actually has water in it at the moment.

Hi Holden4th.
We stayed at the Apex Riverside Tourist park in July.
A great spot on the banks of the Lachlan River & the best camp kitchen set up I have seen for years.
Cheers.
