I'm looking at buying either a new lc 70 (with 1hz non turbo) or a patrol ute which is also a 4.2 diesel non turbo. Yes I'm not enquiring in Australia as they don't carry these spec. Couldn't decide on which one to go for as they are very similar vehicles. Both with coil front and leaf rear. Can someone please give me some advice?

Wouldn't it depend upon your intended use, and if you have a budget ?

I need to use it for carrying heavy loads and travel on dirt. They both cost the same as
well.

They both have an excellent reputation for doing that relatively easily. In the end it probably boils down to personal preferances. Toyota seem to have a better rap for warrenty, although there is some dispute here about that.
I'm sure that both sides of the coin will offer advice.

Toyota, Nissan doesn't stand by there warranties when they break. My Nissan has seven cracks in the chassis and Nissan will not warrant it. Happened 13mths after I purchased it.
