Not only green numskulls going to force us paying extra tax, but now we about to face “London style congestion road tolls”. Read this. Ok, we DO have problem, but frankly we are not living in London and for too many of us public transport not an option. For example some days I have to go from Eltham area to Dandenong - it would take me 2.5 hr (if lucky!) by train/bus! And how about businesses that cannot use other way or time, like deliveries or curriers? They will pay and pass cost to customers, thus everything became even more expensive. At some stages I wonder if those idiots have any brain in their skulls at all. Time to get scooter. Rant over.

Forgot to mention ---- 0 - 100 2.5 sec top speed of 300 ( limiter kicks in at 299 so will probably go quicker )

More than enough for city and country riding :)

Hi All

I do Plumbing Maintenance in the Brisbane C B D, if they tried that on
you would find most Maintenance Companies & Delivery People
would think twice about accepting work there, its bad enough
trying to park at some of these places on site, many times I have
parked at Parking Stations, and been charged up to $20-00 for
1 hour, they call it short term parking, one contractor I know went
to a Emergency Call Out on a Job, he parked in the street and when
he came out, his work van had been towed away, they did'nt even
bother to phone him, his mobile phone number was on his van.

A few years ago, I had an appointment with a Specialist at the
Tugun Hilton (John Flynn Hospital), when he found out that I was a
Plumber, he asked me if I could do some work for him at his home,
I told him he would have to get a Referal, he thought it was a great
joke, he said we had a lot in common, we both do Plumbing, but he
has to do it right the first time, I said but I have to give a Guarantee,
or the Building Services Authority will fined me.

Hi Daza,
Know what you mean.
I'm a Wood Butcher;-)
Went to the dentist awhile back. To have cap put on a mollar, root canal work I was looking at spending 2500 bucks for one tooth.
Anyway we got chattin about stuff, and he tells me that he had to get a plumber in to install his pump for his water tank so he could get his rebate.
Now what were his words, that's right.
'The plumber wanted 60 an hour, and the Carpenter wanted 45, what for? just to lay a concrete slab and do up a few pipes.
Their got no Idea.
They live on a difference plant to us.

Sorry rant over now. :)

G/Day Jon

I'm lucky enough to deal with one major client now, Federal Govt,
they keep us busy 7/24, we still look after some old customers,
and a few pensioners, I allways forget to invoice them, they have
enough problems, and any new jobs I pass on to young plumbers
starting off, we are getting ready to be semi retired by xmass,
and work two months on and one month off in the new year,
so we can get the truck & van dirty.

55 km along polluted roads inhaling all those cancerogenic stuff that came from exhaust pipes under high physical load, p1551ng and delaying dozens and dozens other people, endanger my own life and coming to work with pain in the a55 sweating and stinking (I do not have shower in any of my workplace)? Thanks I would rather have a quiet smoke on the bench in park because it less harm to my health. And save my bicycle for weekend ride along our lovely parks and creeks.

Mfewster,

I am very glad that I could make your day. But just think how much indirect pollution those numskull riders produce by holding heavy traffic. I am not talking about other ill social effect like people get late and frustrated. Even most brainless body (I mean TAC) agreed after much research (obvious stuff, but numskull still need research) that bicycles and cars does not mix well.

Serge...If you're freaking out about a cyclist that holds traffic up for a minute or two (at best) you're living to close to the edge...chill out and smell the roses man!

Still ROFLMAO at the comments above though...good call Mfewster!

Landy,

If you ALWAYS have enough time not to hurry, but rather stop and smell roses (in traffic, my turn ROFLMAO or what???), then I truly jealous because I simply do not have such luxury. If you can justify when one prick on bike holding 50 or so people in bus – good on you. My suggestion would be get a bunch of rouses, sit (pardon me, STAND in crowd) in that bus and smell them. Surely you will not kill that extra time in traffic for nothing!

Serg,

I think Steve is telling you that you should deal with more important issues.

Traffic problems should never be considered as a problem when we have people in this country wo have half the lfe expectancy that they should.

Why should I, as the product of European Migrants, have a better life than the original Australians?

Jim.

Jim,

It is tuff one.

1.I disagree that it is unimportant when they try to rip me off.

2.It is very difficult to deal with problems that I have no influence at all.

3.Hard, but true. Your like to live better while they like to live “traditionally”. How you suggest doing anything good to them if they do not like to accept it? Money? They entitled on more benefits then me once upon time when I came to this country. Education? They not interested. Better living condition? They do not like to move from their places. What else – tell me if you know.

Steve,

I have not heard of this book and indeed will look for one. I agree that every non-indigenous Australian has to know more about aborigines then in average we do. Though I do not believe that this book can answer my question – what can be done? It is impossible to deny that we have huge problem with them and it is truly disgraceful how many of them living considering that we easy came in top 10 countries worldwide by living standards. Meaning of my comment rather simple – nothing can be done if they dislike to accept our help

This IS tuff one.

Cheers

Serg,

Whilst ever you have the "Us" and "Them" attitude nothing will ever be solved.

Read up a little to get an understanding.

Consider this for a second. These people were hunted for sport. These people were murdered into extinction in Tasmania.

Look up the "Drover's Boy" and find out what that is really about.

And lots more.

Jim.

Jim,

Your point is truly valid. But what you suggest “We” and “They” have to do to become “Us” as a whole? And in particular what each of us including myself can do? Many awful things had happens in the past, but real question is what we have to do today to fix it instead of endlessly rumbling that first colonist (do you remember that they where criminals in vast majority?) treated aboriginals as animals? Also mind you that our aboriginals should be considered “lucky”, if you look into history of American (both North and South) ones. I never been in believing that aborigines (or any other race for this merit) are “subrace” or anything like this. They just have their own way of living, it is not “right” or “wrong” – it is different.

But lets face it – certain thing cannot be achieved without changing lifestyle. For me it is quite evident that “We” will not became “Them” and also I fail to see what can be done “In Between”. Therefore “They” should become “Us” it order to survive as ethnic group, assimilate and became “Us” as a whole. Under no means it is simple process – everything what in the past, all previous believing and habits need to be thrown into rubbish bin. Main issue is not even educational. They have to give up everything what they have got and it does not seems that right to me at all. It IS incredibly gruesome conclusion, but I fail to conclude anything else – please tell me if you do.

I will indeed search for book pointed by Steve to make me understand more of aborigines way of thinking. I already have read preface and it makes me curious enough to read whole book. As for original Steve’s remark it is better talk to our government, not to me. They said big useless sorry and keep themselves busy by solving gays problem instead of aborigines ones.
