Just back (yesterday) after another Simpson Desert trip- including Oodnadatta Track/ Old Srtretz/ and other roads around the area. The Hercules Terra Traks have now seen 65,600km and will be ready for replacement soon. May get a few more thou. out of them. These are only the A/W pattern and I've had no problems. Been on the Beadell Rds, Cape York, and other trips.
I did notice a few 'outbackers' also using the Hercules, including the Ranger at Dalhousie. He was very pleased with them (they were the A/Ts)- and with regular runs towards Mt Dare, Pedirka (both very rocky) and into the Desert with no flats and good performance.
For less than $700 a set (4)- I'll be replacing the current set with A/Ts.

Thanks for report Signman.
Glad to see you had no problems. Good to read a positive report on tyres. Mind you probably has a lot to do with the driver too!
Will now add them to the list of possible replacements in future.
Cheers from the Moose

Very timely Signman.I've got a pair of BFG slicks on the back, and was looking for a substitute. The BFGs have been bullet proof to date, but chipped horribly. (The company helped me out with the last couple, due to 'chunking'. Faulty batch? hmm).

We have a set of Terra Trak A/Ws on the Wizard, have done 40,000 only black top, and they should get another 40 I don't think they have worn 5mm. $150 a piece for 245/70x16s.
I will be using them again for sure, thanks for the heads up for out back travel Signman.

Cheers Bruce.

G'Day Signman,

Purchased a new spare Terra Trac in March, dealer said they have had a name change and now called IRONMAN.

Not sure I believe him, interested to see if you can still get a set.

Regards

Rolande
