Just got the injectors done on the Patrol (150,000km) and goes a lot better (for a slug). Problem is, mechanics are having probs getting rail not to leak. Hole in rail for injector to go through is heaps bigger than injector body, unlike the 4.2 which is a snug fit. Does anyone know what the secret is in lining the rail up with all 6 injectors first time (or in under a day).

hi john, had mind done same problem found the copper washer when placed on the locating pins has play and therefore dosent centralise the injector perfectly,so when tightening you do not get a good seal.2.8is the only one with this problem.can only suggest new washers and be very careful locating injectors all the best.

Thanks ramp, mechanic is going to spend another day on it tomorrow. Fingers crossed. They do injectors day in and day out and hate the sign of an RD28T pulling into the carpark for injectors.
