I have had my 92 2.8D 4Runner for just over a year now and just realised there is no light on when in 4WD. Where is it located (dash, etc)? Just proves that I drive with my head up my ass!

Thanks

Hi Louie, you make me laugh, ""Just proves that I drive with my head up my ass!"" LOL, anyway I cant remember where exactly on the lower dash it was but if you get the dash in the right light you should be able to see the outline of the symble "4WD". I think it might also display it in the log book as well, but they definately have one. My'n use to light up green in colour. Regards Steve M

LOL Louie, at lest you have not got a broomstick up their.
Mate I had a light in my old 93 22r, think it was in the dash and it was green.

Might be worth checking the the gearbox/transfer switches, may just be a wire off.

Thanks guys. Noticed it when I was browsing the wiring diagram (I am going to rewire the tailgate). Figures that it would be green, most are I think.

Hi Louie,
They are a good old girl, only problem I had with mine was the rear power window and the radiator. Body was as tight as when I sold it at 215000ks.

I really like the 4Runner. Although they are not huge inside the storage area it carries us & our teenage kids comfortably. Easy as to drive. Last year we went to QLD and did Fraser Island for 10 days without a problem. My rear window didn't work from the key when we got it. I got a switch from a wreckers and got a mate to reset the tumblers so it was same as doors. And another mate is an auto sparky. He fixed it up so it works as good as it can.

Previously we had a GQ 4.2D, Inter Scout with stinker 354/auto 350+ HP, and a Landy S3 with 202 & auto. The Patrol was great but this is as good for what it needs to do.
