CHUCKY S
i think about the only way to fit in 2nd battery is to fit it up under the rear tray. i looked into this myself ( i have 2004 str) & your right there isnt much room under the bonnet.
i too will be interested to see where else you can put it, cheers.

they make a tray to go on the inside of the chassis under the drivers
seat. i was'nt really keen on that idea and have built a box to go in the canopy. they are a bit more expensive but gel batteries are the way to go when installing in the canopy.

The second battery can be fitted under the drivers
seat bolted to the chassis. I think Phirana do the kit. We have fitted it to my mates STX. We used a gel battery, you need to cut a couple of mm off the small threaded battery terminals for extra clearance in the fully enclosed steel box. I was sceptical of this whole set up but doing the install and the way it has come up, I have no concerns with it. Good and soilid as any other arrangement.
THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS SETUP.

Chucky,
i was quoted $2000 plus for custom set up under tray. I opted for an ABR sidewinder unit 'flyer' and remove it when not using it. I have mounted it in my tool box in the tray and have permanently installed the cables to suit. By removing the battery box you save the large weight when not in use. I installed the whole lot in 2 hours and spent @ $725 including 95 amp hr AGM battery.
