Hiya barely there

Turbo'd is about 500km's to 66 litre tank around town....Havn't taken her on a long run yet with cruise control...

I suggest you save and get one with a Turbo or hav one fitted unless you dont mind running around in a slug box...

Cheers

I've got a 2000 EFI 3.0 diesel non-turbo.

I get 10l/100km round town, 9-9.5L/100km on highway, but can get down below 9 on the highway if you stay below 100km/hr. Offroad nothing really changes, as opposed to my former v6 petrol prado where churning through sand the power was great but holy cow in low range i swear i could see the fuel gauge moving and my wallet always felt it later.

That said, my lux has a high top ARB canopy which would add significant weight and make the aerodynamics more brick like so I have heard of people getting into the 8's per 100 where they can hang round 70km/hr zones and zip around in 5th gear.

I got a morepower chip put in and jury is out yet on effects on fuel economy as i haven't been able to do a decent highway or offroad run yet.

i love it.

There are real bargains out there. When I bought mine 6mnths ago beatifully run in at 140,000km i got it with canopy for $18k with full service history and no red dust anywhere. He confessed to me that he'd been offered a trade in of $13k at his jeep dealership. So work on those figures when you're bargaining.

2004 it should be very clean, don't get anythig from a mine as the posts of red dust in desiel engines will atest. A good instant test is to pull back the back seat and in each far corner will be a rubber plug, pull it out and see what has gathered underneath.

I drive a 2003 T/D dual cab with Hi profile flexiglass canopy. Loaded with wife 2 kids ,full camping gear and roof bars does 11l/100 when I tame the heavy right foot. I do love the T/D engine though.Would love to try the V8 cruiser.

2001 3.0 td tray back with canvas canopy.

Just back from a trip from Brisbane to Diamantina Lakes via several national parks. Two people. Lots of gear including 60litre water and 60 litre diesel and long range tank 115 litre.
Average just over 11.
From Windorah to Diamantina and back, 1000k including driving all over National park, Road in sandy in places and didn't go slow. Average in this section just under 13.
