twelve months or so back I bought the "poverty Pak" version of a Mazda BT 50 twin cab 4 x2 with the intention of using it for my work & for when towing our Van. Our intention was to use our
sedan for all other purposes.
Trouble is.......... We both now leave the car in the garage most times as we both prefer the ute. My wifes reason is the ute is higher & easier for her to slide her big bum onto the
seat without having to lower herself down to road level
seat herself in the Camry, plus she sort of just likes it.
My reason is I don't like the Camry.
We are happy with the ute, but unlike a
sedan, it gives a "firm" ride. ( you feel every bump!! )
It has a leaf spring
suspension & we do not go of the bituem.
What are your suggestions by way of some sort of modification to soften up the ride a bit? Many thanks for any input.

Just load the back of the ute up with more beer for the trip home from the shops and that should softer the ride LOL
Cheers Kev

Thanks Kev, It' a comfort to know the great Aussie spirit still exists. Now let me see, I kg = about 1 Litre?
So.............. to replace, when not towing, about 160Kg ball weight I'll need to load up with about 17 or so cartons of stubbies? Sounds good allready allright!! & that was just a trip down to get the local paper. SWMBI is going to hate you. LOL
Now come on you experts out there, I need some meaningfull advise!!

Hate to tell you Kev, but the definition of an "expert" is as follows:
The "x" is the unknown quantity. The "Spurt" is the result of a drip under pressure.
Now, even though I am my own person sort of thing, now & then when I am allowed ,I am being given the look, so it is probabley wise, very wise, if I log off!! LOL & cheers.

If you keep on talking about your Wife re: easier to slide her Big Bum
across the
seat.. you wont be able to drive the Ute with a couple of
Broken Legs ect, your very Brave Man, whats that saying women
are allways on about? Does My Bum Look Big In This lol.

Daza,
Mrs Barry has the ute cause she finds it easier to chain him up in the tray rather than trying to fit him and the shopping in the boot of the
sedan LOL

Barry
I would suggest you talk to a spring manufacturing company like Lovells for example. (see link below) You may not be the first person who has gone to them with the same problem so they might already have a suitable
suspension package consisting of springs, shocks and sway bars. If not they should not have any trouble making something suitable.

Barry.
Lower tyres pressure will help, removing the helper springs would also help but renders the ute useless for heavy loads. Eric.

I'd suggest also that you speak to some
suspension people, I know Ironman do a softer leaf pack for the Triton, I'm sure they'd do one for the Mazda - you could use polyair bags to help with the loads associated with towing...
