A question probably directed to those of you who may have or have had in the past an on road Cub Campertrailer.

How far have you ventured off road with, say a Cub Supamatic touring (not off road) model ?

Has anyone out there owned at some stage or another an on road model and an off road model? If so, how do they compare?

We are looking at buying a Cub Supamatic and no doubt the off road model would go everywhere we would with our D40 Navara but just how far could we expect to safely take an on road model off road?

Any comments would be appreciated by Cub owners.

Cheers, True Blue.

We took our Cubby (on road) down the Oodnadatta Track with no problems except a drop down leg dropping down and dragging. My fault for not checking and tightening. It all comes down to travelling to the conditions. ie speed and tyre pressure.

Correct, speed (can go too fast or too slow), tyre pressure and most importantly looking ahead and reading the road, its undulations, corrigations, rocky bits, sandy bits, where to place wheels etc. Its easier if you're a trail bike rider, current or ex, as they do it as a matter of survival.

True Blue,
Having had a few campers and well as campomatic and cub supamatic, this time we got the Supamatic with the Transcontinental pack (extra cost about $1,000) it will upgrade you camper for just about all the track other than possibly Cape York. Give Cub a ring and they will help you with the info you require. More than happy with ours and the extra investment for the extended drawbar and the other pack goodies was well worth the money.

Regards
