How is this for a rip off? My son has a camper trailer but the door is on the off side. When trying to license it in W.A he was told that it could not be licensed with the door on the off side. BUT for $50.00 it could be licensed. I think to myself is this a rip off or for $50.00 the law can be modified???

Possibly the $50 is for the inspector to look the other way ;-)
Really if the law says the door must be on the left side for safety then there shouldn't be any $50 exemptions, they simply shouldn't be built or imported into the country that way.
Pay the $50 & think himself lucky he doesn't have to spend $1000 to shift the door to the other side.

I am sure the $50 is for the blinkers for the inspector. Inspectors can miss things but I thought it might be more than $50.

We built up a catering caravan and we could not put a door on the right and the serving opening on the left. We applied for exemption on the basis that it was safer for the customers to be away from the traffic.
Answer was under no circumstances.

Make you wonder a couple of months ago a motor home parked across the road from my
shop and it had a door in the side back behind the driver. Had a drivers door as
well (I Think)
Cheers
