Hi there I am looking for a new GPS I currently have a Garmin GPSmap 60cs which I also have the maps for and waypoint manager on the computer. I have been happy with garmin and would look them 1st.
So what I would like to upgrade to is one that will give me
- the city navigation (eg. turn by turn ect)
- the ability to easily input waypoints for off road stuff
- slightly bigger screen
- but not a indash unit.
Does any one have any suggestions of units that will offer these features and what has worked for them
thanks
Jason

Jason
You can check out some info
HERE and read the section in blue in blue and do so after you have finished.
plus here is a
Report on Garmin Nuvi 760
You might like to check this one too
Hema Navigator.

Whilst Hema Navigator will handle what you want, be aware that you cannot run the autorouting Sw & Oziexplorer at the same time.

so Doug I would be able to use my waypoint manager and mapsource metroguide softwear with the Nuvi units and they will work much the same as 60cs just have the voice command for driving in the city???

Hi Jason,
read ThreadID: 61242 , these are a great unit,
The cheapest garmin would be the Nuvi 250 going for about $229 at this moment but it doesn't give you TTS direction , If you want a Nuvi that saves
routes and saves breadcrumbs then the Nuvi 760 is the go.
If you carry a Laptop then you could always use Nroute and that hooked up to your 60cs can talk to you but not say the street names.
you will need a copy of City navigator as
well.
The cheapest nuvi that does TTS starts from about $300 and an extra $100 gets you the wide screen

My 60 CS does the turn by turn perfectly with City Navigator and also does the bush tracks and point to point outback very
well. If all u need is a bigger screen then maybe go teh GPSMap 256?
