fossicking cloyna , windera area

Has anyone info , first hand account of semi precious gem fossicking in the cloyna , windera area . Is ther any 4wding around murgon . cheers .

Have no idea about the fossicking.
As for 4WDing - have a look at Google maps - the green is state forest. There are a few patches of SF north of Boondooma Dam that appear to have access. Other than that there is Wondai SF south of Wondai.
We have driven through Wondai SF, but never explored it. Coming into Wondai from Murgon you go straight ahead at the roundabout, take 5th road on right, keep going past the new development on right, when you hit the scrub there is a small patch of SF on the right - but keep going, the road has bends but is relativly flat and runs through a bit of farming area - when you hit the scrub again that is Wondai SF - the road it is a little bit hilly, and the road tends to be a little windy, and lumpy. When we last came through the track was a little bit rough, but in good cond.
Have a look at google maps though - the coverage of the forestry is reasonable to good in some places.
