Hi All,
I am having problems with my new home PC. I need vista as that's what we use at work so please no "put XP back on". Is there a setting I need to activate to keep logged in to EO. I select the option when entering my user name and password but every time I come back I need to re log in. It stays logged in at work but I am at a loss as to why it doesn't at home? Brand new PC, 4 gig of ram, Vista Ultimate Pro, Full windows suite and 200 gig HD. Please help!
Thanks
Matt

Hi Doug,
Tick it every time as I tried to say originally. But it dosent recognise it when I come back again. My work computer stays logged on all the time, just no the new one.
Thanks anyway

My bet would be that the browser is not set to allow Cookies.
A Cookie is a file stored on your PC by a website that contains settings specific to that site (such as autologon details). If you set you security level really high then these are not stored.
Not sure what browser/version you are using but if you look in browser options there should be somewhere to enable Cookies.
Cheers
Muddy

Vista by nature does run a high security check for settings by default. You should be able to overide them. Not sure how but I'm in the same boat with a new laptop

Good post Matt,
I'm having the same trouble at work but not home.
I'll give this cookies thing a try as suggested above and report back later.
Jim.

Can you add Exloroz as a trusted site?

Great post Matt. Been having the same problem on the Mozilla Firefox browser and changing the cookie settings fixed it for me. Had to mess around a bit but finally got there. This is the huge advantage of the
forum - you can get answers top silly little things that bug you but aren't otherwise worth the hassle of paying someone to fix for you.
Thanks for the posts guys.
cheers Paul B Kal

Paul,
I'm running Mozilla too, it seems to be the common link. Any tips on how to do it. I had a look, got nowhere. I am a self confessed computer dunce.
Regards,
Jim.

All I did was Click on the 'Tools' drop down menu & then 'Options' which opens a new small window. Selected the 'Privacy' tab (3rd from right) and halfway down is the 'Cookies' section. Clicked on the box alongside 'Accept cookies from sites' and then the box alongside 'Accept third-party cookies' and then the down arrow next to 'Keep until' and selected 'they expire'. Then clicked on the OK button to exit from the options window and next time I opened exploroz.com, I was still logged on.

Hi guys, Thanks for your help. Unfortunately its still not happening for me. I run Mozilla at home,
my home computer and work computer and work computer have the same operating systems yet work will allow me to stay logged on. Tried changing cookies and stuff but didn't get anywhere. Also tried changing security settings. Still no good? If anyone has any more ideas please feel free to write them down. I am going to get one of the IT boffins at work to have a look at it for me. Will keep you posted it I find a fix.
Thanks
Matt

Matt,
It will be related to cookies (that I can be 100% sure about). What Internet Security package are you using. My bet is Norton on the machine that does not work. Check the settings in this area and add www.exploroz.com as a safe site (or enable cookies). It will not only be a problem for your EO usage however it will effect all sites that try to use cookies on your computer.

Thanks David,
I went into Norton and did all of that. I'll know within an hour if I git it right.

OK here's what happened.
I went into Norton and changed Cookie Blocking to None.
This didn't work.
So I went back in and also changed Privacy Information to:
None-Allow Outgoing Privacy Information.
Now it works fine.
My question is this David, have I done anything dangerous with the "Allow Outgoing Privacy Information" thing?
Cheers,
Jim.
