Remote Locking problem

Hi all,

I seem to remember a thread along these lines from a while back, but haven't been able to find it with Search...

I have an intermittent problem with the Remote / Keyless locking on the GU.

Seems to occur after the Gu has been sitting idle for a couple of days and especially if the weather is / has been cold.

Pressing the button on the remote causes the lights to flash, but the door locks are not locked / unlocked.

Opening the drivers door manually with the key triggers the central locking as normal causes all the doors unlock.

After having driven it, the remote manages to operate the door-locks as normal.

Has anybody experienced something like this, or have any clues as to what might be the cause?

Hello PGK,
I suffered a similar problem with my Hilux; especially when I was parked in the main street outside the local Commonwealth Bank. A passerby suggested that the remote locking was probably affected by interference from a nearby power pole or someone's wireless network. Parking a short distance away fixed the problem. My immediate thought was that the Hilux took a disliking to the CBA ! Maybe you could test the interference theory and see if your remote device becomes inoperable in certain places..
