I'm keen to go down the diesel/gas path on my TD42 Patrol but am a bit confused about the various systems.

Any feedback, suggestions, positives and negatives on all or any of the various systems would be very much appreciated.

I'm currently "leaning" perhaps towards d-gas but to be honest haven't really a clue as to which is the best for the engine, best value and best at anything else.
Thanks in advance!
David

ive been looking at them for a while now, we will be getting the D-Gas system for a few reasons;
1. liquid pickup, takes liquid from the tank and turns to vapor in the engine bay. the vapor pickups can have problems if they pick up liquid, like when you are bouncing around off road!

2. injects the gas AFTER the turbo, NOT before. you can give me all the "data" you like, i just dont like the idea of a flamable gas going through my GLOWING turbo!

3. the gas can pit the blades in the turbo!

hope this helps!!

Hey S&N....the intake or fresh air side of your turbo should not be glowing.....nor should the exhaust side for that matter.

Not sure re the various systems on offer either. Would love to speak to someone who can give valid comparisons as I'd like to fit it too. I do like the idea of gas injection downstream of the turbo- but does it really matter?-I haven't a clue to be honest.

The added power would be nice. (There is no such thing as TOO MUCH power!)

*The added range would be nice.
*The slight saving in fuel costs would be nice.
*The reduced black smoke/cleaner oil and possibly extended oil changes would be nice.

Shame about the cost all the same. It aint cheap and would take a bloody long time to pay for itself (bit better if you live in W.A.)

There must be someone on the forum who can offer some valid experience re the various systems and/or reasons why they went down a particular path and how happy they are with their choice.
Hooroo!

Yes I am still very happy with mine. Just make sure you are not fdoing it for the economy or you will be disappointed. The benefits are the additional power and the reduced cost / litre for fuel. Economy doesnt really play into it too much.

I think I mentioned in one of my previous posts that mine has basically paid for itself in less than 12 months, although here in WA you do get 3K in rebates which did make a difference.

Cheers
