I have just picked up my Waeco CF 80 ver-b today. It has digital display etc. Just wondering what the best temp is to set it at with wanting it to run as freezer, fridge and dairy. Any further helpful hints to owninga waeco?

I set my Bushman at -17 deg C as this was the recommended temp on a packet of frozen fish I bought from the supermarket. Also found I had to run at this temp if I wanted the ice cream to be firm.

What I forgot to mention is that I have 2 * 55 ltr Bushman friges and run the one as a freezer -17 deg C and set the other 0 deg C as the fridge, so this might not help you.

-14 will give you soft serve ice cream like you have from an ice cream truck - especially nice with the Sara Lea ice creams :)

-17 in the warmer months will see the fridge running ALL DAY with the occasional switch of for 2 min so be sure to have a solar panel running in parallel to your battery if your sitting all day

Went away in April to far North Queensland temps each day around 30 deg C run the two fridges with the setting in the post above for 2 1/2 months with no problem on 2*75 watt solar panels and the two 120amp/hr agm batteries never dropped below 75%. The more you pack the fridge and freezer the less they run.

I have had a CF 80 for about 3 years now. Run it on -8 to use as fridge only and between -12 and -15 to run as fridge/freezer/dairy depending on time of year.
