I have a Uniden UH -088 in the Nissan which has given up the ghost. I have power to the unit (can hear it switch on) there is no display. What I want to know are they worth getting fixed or just replace it and with what.

Hi there,
Is it just the display that has died? Better off to check E-Bay I reckon. My 011 display is getting dimmer and dimmer so will replace it also soon. It still works OK though.

Could be an internal fuse ....... manufacturers USED to provide them as a safety measure.

Unless you know someone with electronics test gear .... probably cheaper to pick one up off ebay or somewhere.

Captain Chaos

I have a Uniden UH 088 which I have just removed from 80 series. It is a few years old but works fine.

I have just put a new Icom into a new 200 series (keep evertything new)

You can have the radio for nix.

I am at Narangba. Send a message if you are interested.

Alan
