Hi all. My BIL has just bought a Mistubishi Challenger with a V6 engine which has a cracked exhaust manifold. Has anyone put extractors on one of these things? If so, what, who, where, etc. Any info appreciated.

Hi Louie the fly.

Try the pajero 4wd club of Vict forum. There is a section on Challengers.
Cheers.

I priced some for swmbo s Paj and they where $750.00. Biggest problem is they tend to drone a bit, but they do go better.

A mate just put a set on his V6 Pajero along with a 2 1/2" system and apart from a nice note he said he wasted $1500 for no noticible differance.

Hi Louie,
So your BIL has two options to choose from,
Fit extractors.............. or buy a new exhaust manifold.

Price may determine the chosen option.

If nothing else is available, can the cracked manifold be repaired/welded. It might be a viable option if the others are too expensive.

Just my thoughts.

Disco.

There is one mob that makes them for Challengers apparently. He's looking into it today. Otherwise, I told him to check the wreckers for a manifold as it seems to be the same engine as 3.0 Paj & Triton. Last resort I can probably repair the cracked manifold for him.

As Nick said, extractors don't make a lot of difference to them unless you spend a lot on other performance mods as well. Probably more cost effective to get a new manifold from the wreckers.
