My parents bought a Ford Ranger from Jarvis Ford in Adelaide. They are very happy with the vehicle and after returning from a two month trip through NSW and QLD towing a 18' van, they could not be happier with they way the Ranger went and the fuel usage (400km on 45ltrs average).
Until they got the Ranger serviced at Jarvis Ford.. 20000km service at a cost of $800. That hurt a bit but it was tappets and diff oils so they wore it. When they arrived here at my place I had a look under the Ranger to find that no diff oils had been changed and that the drive shafts had not bee greased. The plugs and grease nipples still had the red dirt from the trip in the flinders Ranges. They had not even checked the transfer case oil level.

Dad rang Jarvis Ford today and spoke with the service tech. He said that he did not realize the diff oils were part of the 20000km service even tho Dad was charged for the oil on the invoice. Also when confronted about greasing the drive shafts he said it was done. Well they sent a Mechanic out (100km) to finish the service, so Dad asked the mechanic that turned up if the drive shafts had been greased and he sheepishly said NO!!. Needless to say Dad was not impressed and will be in touch with Ford tomorrow.

Also just to add they charge $68 for 6ltrs of engine oil. I think its Mobil. Over $10 a ltr is robbery. Nice way to treat you customers after buying a $50000 vehicle

It's a fact of life to many people are just happy to pay and walk away thinking that their car was serviced and part x was replaced. You have done well and your Dad can be proud.

They're not all the same.

I've had oustanding service from Jefferson Ford in Melbourne.

A couple of warranty issues sorted out quick smart, free loan car etc.

No affiliation blah blah blah.

I had a serious service problem with Jarvis Ford back in the '90's. I would never deal with them again. Seems nothing has changed.

We have had many problems with Jarvis Ford regarding Falcons we have or had.

Trying to get through to their service dept. is harder then trying to speak to someone at Telstra.

Over the last 2 years they have lost 2 sales for commercial vehicles from us.

When we go in looking at new vehicles the salesman comes out all happy and when he See's us in company uniform he asks are we private buyers or fleet...when we say fleet they want nothing to do with us and says we have to contact their fleet dept.

We have to return vehicles on a number of times for warranty work that should of been done earlier.

We have made numerous complaints to them but it seems they don't really care.
