Laptop problem

I just got second hand laptop and when i try to play DVD message comes up saying decoder needs to be installed. Anyone knows what i need to do?

surf the net and get a DVD decoder, there a couple of free ones thereSo many places to go!

is it an actual dvd or is it a divx? if it's a divx you just need to download the divx codec... if it's a dvd you will need dvd player software - altho i believe the newest windows media player has a dvd codec available... it's certainly not as fully featured as a commercial dvd package but it's free.
