I notice there is a big difference in the price of diesel between Kalgoorlie and Norseman. Are the prices at Coolgardie closer to those at Kalgoorlie or Norseman? Also, what are the best place to buy diesel along Eyre Highway between Norseman and Ceduna?

The SAFF ones are good. Cant remember the names of which besides Ceduna and the SAFF one inside the WA border, but one tip is AVOID the ones that give out the "2cent discount" sheets. There are 3 or 4 that are greatly different from the rest-20 cents or so. Try Fuelwatch!

Good suggestion re Fuelwatch. For WA towns it gives much more comprehensive and up to date info than ExplorOz.com. It's not much use for the Eyre Highway though, because it only seems to search by by postcode and everything along the Eyre Highway from Norseman to Eucla is postcode 6443. I could only get the data for Norseman. I'll contact the website administrator and see if it is possible to search by locality rather than postcode.

For interstate visitors who might be following this thread, FuelWatch (www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au) is a very good source of fuel price information for the Perth metro area and most sizeable country towns in WA.

The listed prices apply for 24hrs from 06.00 on the current day. Prices for the next day are available from 14.30. The quickest way to search is by postcode, but you can also search by suburb or town name using the 'Price Search' page.

Small communities are generally not covered by FuelWatch except for a few places where there is more than one fuel outlet (eg Fitzroy Crossing). At present you won't get any FuelWatch information along the Eyre Highway east of Norseman.

I am also noticing that the price of fuel is still high.

The price of a barrel is as low as in may so we are paying probably 20c a litre to much.

But the Aussie dollar is low but its the same as in may.

But as you have probably forgotten there are migrating birds in north America so that's why they cant drop the price if fuel.

All the best

Unfortunately the Ozi dollar has dropped a lot recently so in Oz dollars the price of a barrel has actually risen over the last few days, not dropped :-((

We crossed the Nullarbor a couple of months ago.

In Norseman, Shell, IN TOWN, and the Caltex are the cheapest.

Next is Mundrabilla (SAFF).

All in between are expensive.

Mundrabilla is the same price as Eucla but is easier to access with a caravan if you are towing.

Penong and Nundroo have good prices.

cheers

I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy
