Hmmmmm

Reading the blurb it states that the vehicle has always been serviced regularly yet it has done under 3000km. That equates to regular services once a year at 142km intervals....lol

Nice looking 60 series though. Probably worth about $10,000

..... Gee Willem thats a bit harsh... isnt it.
Some of the crappy ones with 300,000ks are still selling for $6K.
I reckon its worth $20K to a collector.......

Yes

If it were a classic vehicle then by all means pay the big dollars. These cars are still in circulation. If someone is going to pay 6K for a 300,000plus 60 series then its their money.

Not so long ago there was a 1988 Sahara for sale in a neighbouring town. The local Toyota dealer was asking $22,000 for it with around 290,000 om the clock. I was keen but settled on an el-cheapo Nissan for half the price instead...:-)

Cheers

10k would have to be the most they would get. And that would be to a blind man with a guts full of booze. Nice car tho. Just not worth much.

This one has been for sale now for quite a while, possibly 12 months.IMHO worth $15000.00, you would get a good run out of it at that price.
Cheers Pete

Why or how would anyone put such a thing in a garage and up on stands for 21 years... and then sell it or try to?

Don't people usually do this sort of thing with special edition Ferraris or Phase III Falcons? But a 60 series Landcruiser?
Doesn't matter, one trip across the Simpson will make it look like a proper 4wd.

So it still hasn't sold, guess it must be too expensive!!

About 12 months ago this vehicle appeared in a post on this forum and the comments were very similar.

"Tell 'im he's dreamin"

My 1985 60 I bought it 5 year ago as a stock standard nothing extra other than a ARB turbo on it for 18k and that's $1500 more than new.
I bought this one to replace my 84 model 60.
That one had 500k on the clock and now lives in coen.
It only had 95k on the clock and now has just on 270k on the clock and a fair few extras.

I have often thought of up dating but just cant.

All the best
Eric

How has it got nearly 3000 km's on the clock with this comment

"This vehicle is in brand new condition. It has never been driven on the road nor has it ever been wet"

If it has never been driven on the road how has it got nearly 3000 on the clock? Maybe I am just a bit sceptical!!

to a collector (if one exists) it would probably be worth the money
how much would it cost to do up a used onroad 60 series to get it to the same condition?

Who would be stupid enough to restore a 60 series to that condition?

Definitely not me, I would buy a new V8 diesel and still have change.

GPM,
Yes it looks great but I don't beleive the mileage. Have a look at the engone pics. For that mileage it should be squeaky clean and not have oil stains around the hoses!
I tried disconnecting the speedo on my 80 Series when I bought it but being electronic it caused the engine to idle incorrectly, and would not go into O/D. I'm sure with that model the speedo could have been disconnected without a problem!

$10,000 maybe but no way $43000

Rob

My HJ60 has 360,000 on it with a Fairey Overdrive. I bought it for $4000 and spent $1000 on rust and paint. in 2003.
Have spent another $1200 on rust, 2 front doors and a bonnet. Add $500 for a Fairey rebuild and thats about it.
I own it, tyres are relatively cheap, do my own servicing, parts are available in the local wrecker and it cruises at 110 for 11 l/100 average and 13 l/100 towing a small camper.
It has car seats so quite comfortable and as long as the roof rust stays away will be around in 10 years time.
Not many brands can say that!

I agree entirely bbuzz. They are an incredible robust 4x4 and I believe good value even at $6000 if you can find a reasonable one without rust in the roof gutters (almost all of them have heaps of accessories fitted as well. There is only 1 way to go better than a HJ60 in my judgment and thats a HJ61 factory turbo. I love them so much I've got 2 of them ..... LOL

Cheers,
Glen
