When the guy installed my Nokia car kit , he entered some code somewhere in my phone , which told it to "talk to the cradle ".

It all worked OK until my phone battery went dead . Since then , the crade / phone link has disappeared .

I do not think he linked it with bluetooth , although I might have that all wrong .

Any suggestions would be appreciated .

Thanks ,

Willie .

On the off chance that it is a bluetooth issue (our 6120 talks bluetooth to the nokia car kit) go into your phone, enable bluetooth (let me know if you need a hand with that) and then ask it to search for devices. Shouldn't really need search ... just start the car and the car kit will automatically search for phones.

If it asks for a code, try 0000 (or maybe 1234).

Hi Willie,

The only cradle for a Nokia 6120 I know of is the Force and it only connects by bluetooth. I reckon chisel has hit the problem on the head and you need to re-connect the bluetooth.

Cheers

The Force cradle I have is just an inductive aerial cradle and does not need anything enabled to work.
Only has a socket for the power and a connecter to the aerial cable.
A full (read Expensive) Nokia car kit I belive uses the same cradle but the main unit is bluetooth.
Looking on the Nokia site I can only find a Bluetooth version for the 6120

Morning Willie

Main menu button (top left) - Settings - Connectivity - Bluetooth.

Set "Bluetooth" to on.
Set "Visibility" to "Show to all".
Set "Phone name" to "Send Mike $100" or something else :)
Set "Remote SIM mode" to "Off"

Exit menu system.

You now need to "Pair" (ie. introduce your car kit to your phone) the two devices. Hopefully most of this will happen almost automatically when you power-up the car kit and the phone otherwise check your instruction manual.
