Capricorn Roadhouse: do we know if they'll resume fule drops at Well 23 in 2009? We're currently planning a CSR trip in May 2009 on motorcycles, so we ABSOLUTELY need the fuel drop at Well 23, if not we'd have to cancel...

If you want my read it's extremely unlikely to be restarted.

The truck they use needs replacing...

Plus they are probably supplying Parngurr and Kunawirritji...

It is not that much further into Parngurr... perhaps you just need that detour, or come to an arrangement to pay someone from there to meet you at the turnoff.

Only problem is last time I was there (June) there were precious few folks around.

Sebastien - I thought that I had read this week that a second hand truck was being purchased from National Parks in Vic and it would be used to transport fuel next year. Could have been on this site or Land Rover site.

Parngurr, where is that? The only place I know close to CSR where CRH deliver fuel is Cotten Creek.

Parngurr is Cotton Creek. Obviously Parngurr is still getting deliveries - I don't know whether it is CRH, but it is a bulk delivery, not drums.

I have just returned from the "Cappy" roadhouse not more than fifteen minutes ago. Newman time 11.00 am . now.

I spoke with a young woman who was serving at the counter, she says the "new" truck has arrived and after fitting out, it will be rady for fuel deliveries to the remote regions, including Well 23 sometime before the start of the touring season net year.

Today at the "Cappy"

Diesel is $ 1.84.1 c.p.l
ultimate is $ 1.85.9 c.p.l
unleaded is $ 1.72 c.p.l
auto gas is $ 0.99 c.p.l

I saw an ex fire tender truck in the roadhouse compound, that may well be the "new" delivery truck, yes it is a 4wd.

I trust this information helps you in setting up your Canning itinerary for next year.
