Sadly Mum died last week.
She had MS for 55 years, and was 79 years old. Life was still good for her even though she lived nearby in a hostel since Dad died last year. Big shock, brain bleed.
Sad time and effecting me quite a lot.
Anyway. I had found her an '86 Nissan Urvan with wheelchair lift. It's a great vehicle for its age, and was working out
well.
I guess I could list it in the Trader section, but somehow that doesn't seem the right spot. I know lots of you are in my age group and therefore might have parents who could use it or know of others. Not looking to make money really. In fact it's a strange situation seeing it out in my drive without Mum.
I might take a while before I actively try to sell.
Moments like this make you realize that if you have a plan, maybe to travel oz.... then you should Bleedy
well do it now!
Or ride from Lands End To John O'Groats on your pushie [thinking next year] or maybe do the very last
Murray River Marathon... because you have been thinking of doing it for years and this is the last chance...
Sorry ....blathering on now.

Sorry to hear that Royce. Although, like your Dad (I recall the gist of your post last year) it sounds as if she had a good life with a loving family around her - none of us can ask for more than that.
You're right: one never knows what life will hold - my neice (who was almost as close to me as my own children) has just had surgery for a major brain tumour, at age 37. Live life while we can.
Go
well Royce and allow time for the pain to lessen.

Oddly enough Royce, I was thinking of you this morning when I was in Ray's Outdoors (they have a 20% off sale) and looking at a moulded, sit-on kayak, 4m long, single person and great storage for about $1k. The
Snowy River trip is still very much in my mind and I recalled your wish to do it too. A tempting prospect Royce, tempting.... :)

Turned up for my regular Friday morning job to find a colleague had just returned from
Darwin where her sister had suicided. An aunty of one of the children died last week, and my nieces best friends partner, 31 year old male had a heart attack and died whilst riding his bike.
Meanwhile we are waiting for our first grandson to appear in January and my cousin in England tells me that his firs grandson was born last week.... so all's
well with the world really!

Gulp Dodg, when I say that I'm 'not looking to make money', I don't mean that I can give it away! I mean that I'll probably drop a thousand or two on what it 'owes us'.
My Mum has left everything to the eight grandkids, so whatever the proceeds gets split with them.
I guess, now I think about it... I just wanted to tell someone.....

Royce,
My condolences. My parents died a few years ago about 18 months apart after a good life.
It bought my brother and sisters closer together and we meet once a month for lunch when we can.

Hi Royce,
Condolences on your loss. My mum died on Christmas day, five and a half years ago and we still find ourselves referring to her as if she was still here. My dear old dad had a stroke 12 years ago and becoming more and more housebound in his wheelchair, so I was wondering how much you wanted for the Urvan?
Cheers, and keep your chin up in the knowledge that your mum had a good life.

Hi Wombat. I have the back of the van full of Mum's stuff and am working through a box a day.... Still feels like she should be sitting in it!
I paid more than the value of the van plus the hoist, but it was worth it even though she only got two months use out of it.
Here is the ebay link to see what I paid:

I guess I'm up to accepting offers. I'll probably get a bit of use first. It has just had a roadworthy and has a full year's rego.
I also have to think about my role as executor... the grandkids inherit the procedes... email me privately if you want.. here or royce@funshow.com.au

Ah
well.... now the link comes up, but doesn't show the price. I paid $6,250 and then the transport and rego and roadworthy.... but don't expect to get that back.. He wanted $8,000 and it took a couple of months to make him budge. Cheers Royce
