Hi Bagwon, Depending on where in Wa you are, you may wish to try 'Campers On The Run' in Canning Vale. They have campers for hire and for sale. You may be able to do a deal with one of their ex hire campers. They have Challenge camper trailers and Deluxe camper trailers. We bought an ex hire one off them 3 years ago and it has been fantastic. They do travel around a bit and display at regional shows - so if you are not in Perth, you still may be able to catch up with them and view the campers in the flesh.Number is 0417 332 247, or 9256 3450.hope this helps. doc.

Hi Bagwon,

There are a lot of good campers made in WA, but a better idea of your numbers (kids?), budget and off-road usage would help.

If looking for a family orientated camper, then very hard to go past a Camprite - made locally in WA, excellent build quality, very fast setup, can take anywhere off-road but not the cheapest on the market.

Cheers

Captain

Also check out http://www.campertrailers.org they have a listing of different manufacturers.
And another forum you may enjoy is http://www.myswag.org

Don't restrict yourself to WA made either - when you're spending $20k plus then $2k freight isn't that much, check out the camping show if you can.

Yes certainly, if you go local it can make it easier to get extras down the track - like the extra walls or room you didn't think you would need.
I'm not too familiar with the WA made ones so can't give you any advice, we've had an Adventure and an All Terrain in the past. I really liked the All Terrain - that and something like the Complete Campsite - I've seen a few of those drive through town and they look more compact compared to the All Terrain. But alas these are eastern states made.

Things we looked for mainly:
Sturdy construction
Insect Proof (canvas joins trailer without gaps etc)
Ease of erection
Lots of ventilation for the summer weather - heaps of windows etc - as we had little kids who may have needed daytime naps.

Hi Bagwon- I can vouch for the 'campers on the run' after sales service. We moved up north shortly after buying our camper. Had to replace a gas strut on the back door- no problem- prompt reply to our enquiries and they posted it up pronto. Also had a dodgy tail light after a particularly rough trek- phoned Rick up and he suggested where to look for the problem- got it straight away. Despite a lot of use these are the only problems we have encountered with our unit.Cheers. doc.
