Hi all, a group of friends and myself are heading off out along the Strzelecki then the
Oodnadatta Tracks at the end of the week.. just wanting to know if anyone has travelled them in the past couple of weeks, and if so what sort of conditions should we expect?

3-4 weeks since we were on the
Strzelecki track and it was a highway, just starting to corrugate in a few
places. May have had rain after I was there. Hope you have a good trip. Cheers Tony

We went from Roxby via Borefield -
Oodnadatta--
Hamilton station--Eringa--Baminga to Finke back in June. Attempted the Ghan line north of Finke but chickened out and went over to Kulkera to recharge batteries etc. Took the Hugh River track and then back to
Chambers Pillar and then to Alice on the dirt.
Oodnadatta track was reasonable and the track up through Eringa and Baminga was what I would describe as a station track, ok but you dont go too quick. Why would you want to anyway. This section was very stony but had no issues with tyres etc.(Coopers)
When were going through
William Creek area I had read in local paper they were doing a complete destock. Not surprised as there was not a blade of grass anywhere. Made a stop on the sth side of Alberga
Creek back of the road with plenty of wood for a
camp fire and quiet. Did I say quiet? It's in the bloody middle of a desert!!
Have good safe trip and enjoy.
M.
