Evening All,
after David restarted the server the other night all came good, but tonight it will open up a thread OK,back out of it to open another but it wont, the little white hand wont appear to click on what you want to open, click in mid flight and wait about 10 seconds and its all good.operates the once again and nothing again.it is only this site that is doing it as i have checked some others.it is quite annoying these little peculiaritys that we encounter on here! cheers Paul

IE 7.
Duplicate??? Not sure it just seems to hang and as said above it requires a click on a blank area and it seems to think about it for about 10 seconds then works as it should.

What browser are you using for this issue? I think Damian has seen something similar with IE7 but we were not 100% sure. If it is I know where to look.
You may see strange issues every now and then becuase I install new and updated
tools and components almost every day and most of the time they work
well and others sometimes cause a few teething problems.

Yes Mark Firefox does not have these issues - this is now my default browser alas I need to make IE work so will have to try to find it. I did install a new Tooltip system yesterday and I suspect it is related. If you have not seen it try hovering over this
Places or
Shop or even Waeco.

Hi,
I can get it by just refreshing the
Forum pages. Mostly it takes a time (up to 5 seconds) to do a refresh and chews up 100% CPU in IExplore. Sometimes (maybe one out of ten) it works Ok and sometimes I get a
server error. The
server error hasn't happened for over 30 minutes or so now. I cannot remember which it was but I have had either a Shockwave or a Flash upgrade this week. Can't remember which. Run XPsp3 with IE7. Shockwave version 11 and Flash version 9.0.124.0
All Microsoft updates current. Am running Symantec Antivirus v 10.1.6.6000

Kim,
It is a problem with IE 7 and it is realted to Javascript execution - I wonder if there has been a security update or windows update in the last 2 days that may have caused this. I will investigate a little furthur - I have seen some new updates in the last day or two.
I can see the error occuring it is related to latency of the ad loaded at the top of the screen. I will do a little more digging and see if I can find something.
let em know if you sort it at work also.

OK I can now see it and have worked out where it is but the why is still baffling it is new last two days or so.
It is a problem with IE 7 and it is realted to Javascript execution - I wonder if there has been a security update or windows update in the last 2 days that may have caused this. I will investigate a little furthur - I have seen some new updates in the last day or two. As mentioned it only effects IE7 (so far) as my IE6, Opera and Firefox systems do not have this problem at all.
Leave it with me and I will get some information and
feedback when I know more.
(I know know why I upgrade to Firefox as the default but IE 7 is still the most used browser so I will certainly be fixing this with priority - however I suspect the issue has been injected by Microsoft during an update)

OK found it and fixed it I hope - please do a refresh and then try it all again and let me know. There was a function in the new tooltip code that was running a large JS replacement function as the page loaded - the
forum index page has a large number of divs and the replacer was working through all of these.
IE seems to be the only browser that did not like this function - I do not use it so have disabled it in the master library so hopefully that should be problem solved.
Let me know?

David,
I still have the same hassle as reported earlier to Damian, with all words, including the round '
forum logo' and the 'font' and 'print logoes' all being moved across about 1/3 to the right of the boxed area, leaving an empty space in the first 1/3 area, and it's moved so it's covering the 'advertising' and pictures on the right perimeter and out onto the blue extreme border arera on the right side.
This is only happening when I look at the "original" first post.
all replies are correctly situated with-in the boxed area.
Using FireFox & Win MCE.
(I won't be able to answer questions till I get back to WA)
