Hi just wondering if anyone can help me. I need to replace the rear diff centre in my 98 troopy and have been offered an 80 series to put in. Can anyone tell me if the ratio is the same and are the 80's an lsd too. Any other info would be greatly appreciated thanks

Have no idea if diff ratios are the same but my 94 80 series has a limited slip in it, (not that you would know)

Can't answer your question, BUT if I had to replace
mine it would be with a Lokka diff lock.

Count the teeth on both crown
wheels and pinions, if they are the same, then they are the same.
Cheers Steve.

Yep, 80 series is an LSD in the rear (after a fashion).
Almost certain that the ratios are the same. The 80 series ratio is 4.111:1 (from the manual) and I am pretty sure that the 70 series is the same except the new ones which are 3.909:1 I think.
Look
here for a good sheet on diff ratios.
Cheers,
Matt (who would also be thinking of some kind of locker)
