Member Jack is in Mungo at present and will be in Pooncarie in a few days. Expect he'll be able to fill you in on the woeful condition of the darling. I was there 10 months ago and the river was nothing but long pools. Can't see it being any better by now. Strangely enough, plenty of water in Lake Menindee though and I've heard they are going to release a lot of it into the lower reaches of the darling. I'm heading up to the Annabranch north of Travellers Lake in a few weeks myself.

Cheers.

Mick, don't want to get too technical, but Lake Menindee has been dry for about 5 or more years.
Lake Pamarmaroo and Lake Weatherall have water in them, and they have just opened the gates at the Block Dam to let more water down the river.
The Anabranch is also dry too.
The store at Pooncarie closed a few weeks ago, so there is no fuel available in Pooncarie at all.

Thanks Dave. It was one of the lakes I presumed it was Menindee. I knew the annabranch was dry and has been for a long while but I'm hoping to head in that way anyway past Roo Roo and travellers Lake. Wouldn't it be great to see it flowing.

How much are they letting go from Block Dam? Is it for "environmental flow"?

Cheers. Mick
