Love them stories - Insperation as we are almost ready
to do the main part of the vic

Great journey, great tracks, but I'm 40 years too old to travel at that pace. Too fond of smelling the roses and looking around.
But what a hoot! What a pressure on the bikes - don't think I'd buy one afterwards!!
Pity they paid their National
Park fees at Uluru - you just have to show your permit for the GCR and you go through for free! Or at least you used to.
I'm jealous!

After reading part of the thread, think these are group that a mate travelled with, from
Longreach to
Boulia. Unfortunately, he couldn't get time off to go all the way.
From
Longreach, they travelled down to "Noonbah" station, on
Thomson River, then west to Rocky Crossing, down the Mayne River to Mayne Pub. Down the Diamantina to the ' Lakes, and past
Hunters Gorge, west to
Boulia.
