gu patrol spare tyre bracket

hi all, with all the talk of which tyre, large diameter etc. when you mount a 285/75r/16 on the spare tyre mount of a gu the rubber actually touches (maybe rubs )the paint work on the rear door, any suggestions on the best way to space it. whether you the tyre on the bracket or the bracket on the door.cheers

1. kaymar sell a spacer bracket

2.. get rims with a better offset

3. make your own bracket

4. put spacers between the rim and factory mount when bolting up.

you can get a 36" swamper on the back door with out too much hassle with a bit from either above

I had same prob, 3 galv washers between rim and bracket to bring it out did the job.

I use the Kaymar Bracket. It cost $80 I had my local 4x4 shop order it for me. It raises the height of the wheel slightly (there are two height options) and it offsets the wheel from the body.

The bracketIt also has mounting points for the kaymar light on a telscopic pole, but the pole and light are a rip off and can be easily made yourself.

The bracket is powder coated, supplied with bolts.

I packed the bracket out from the door. Just another alternative.

spot weld some washers on the bracket would do the job I reckon.

Just revese the wheel on the original bracket, fits OK but doesnt look as good.
