I am looking at buying a medium size gear sack for a Rhino Roof Rack and wondering if anyone has any opinions on the Bushranger Series II.
I noticed looking back in the archives of ExplorOz, they haven't got a very good rap...but those comments were back in 2005.
Has anyone bought the Series II recently who can give me an update - particularly on the waterproofing.
The other brand I am looking at is
Southern Cross Canvas.
Thanks
Mal

Hi Mal,
I have had a
Southern Cross Canvas roof bag for over 12 months and could not be happier. Have driven through many heavy showers and storms and has been 100%
water tight.
Cheers
Chris.

Have a look at
Infront camping gear. Alternately
outback campers also make them. I've been very happy with both and they'll custom make to your size.
Cheers

Gidday Mal
I’ve had a Michelle roof bag for a while. Never had a drop of
water in it, and very little Bull Dust. Prior to that I used a Bushranger bag, but it didn’t last long.
I’d have to say in all fairness that was some time ago and they may have made improvements.
Having said that, I'd still recommend Michelle.

Kim

Hi Mal
I have two bags, one Michelle and one Bushranger ( the
orange one ). The Bushranger is the large size and the Michelle is the smallest they make, both are good and I have had them for ages.
The bushranger has gussets for a wooden base so you do not need a basket and I would have to say it is my favourite of the two and an added bonus comes with a carry bag to store it.
Have fun
Craig

Thanks for your feedback. I have checked out the website for Infront
camping gear and had a telephone chat with the guy and was very impressed. I like the fact that the flap covering the zipper isn't just 2 inches in depth as those can be a real PITA when trying to zipper up and the velcro just keeps wanting to attach itself over what you're trying to do up.
