With a name like Moses Chair, images of adventures and epic moments in history come to my mind. The Temple of Doom awaits lol. The road went straight past so I was awaiting the moment with great anticipation.

Perhaps there will be other people there, like our friend here:

Alas - my maps were telling me that we were near the site yet there was only a minor hill in the horizon. Could the maps be wrong or could my expectations perhaps have been misconcieved??

Anyway, this is what the hill looks like where Moses is supposed to sit. I was so disappointed I didn't even bother to take a closer look. Thats Life!!!!

This is what Geonoma says: Referred to as "Round Hill" by Surveyor W.F. Rudall in 1897. (Field book. 6 p. 60 &61 and Exploration plan 83a) Named Moses Chair by Jean-Paul Turcaud, an independent prospector, in 1970. Approved on 15th August 1974.

lol Cheers and have a great Sunday
Alan

Jeez Alan,

I think I saw the bloke with the red headpainting at the nearby Geo-phys camp at the top water pump! I'm pretty sure he's the Barrack gold Grupenfuhrer!

Mind you for all the disappointments there are always moments that are absolute gold!

Cheers

Mick

Jean-Paul Turcaud. Wasn't he the controversial bloke that rekkoned that the big miners and the Oz Govt robbed him of some mine or another? Quite a kerfuffle at the time as I remember. I've seen his posts elsewhere and he's a regular nut case these days. Perhaps he was delusional when he named it?
Oh well...looks like both of you were a tad disappointed.

Yes, I think he lay claim to finding Telfer.
He also named Desert Queens Baths.

Yes, Telfer although it's been a long time since I read his claims and postings.
I didn't know that he named Desert Queens Baths. I seem to remember a pix of him in a series 2 Landrover. They must have been tough old birds , as unlike Len B he didn't have the WRE to back him up.
The one that I once owned was tough...when it wasn't costing a fortune in repairs.

Alan

There must be a shelf or ledge within that bum-crack in the hill.

Yep, I always say " Now why didn't I go there when I had the chance?"...lol
