Morning team,

Can someone recommend an insurance company that will do unlimited modifications and unlimited accessories? I have been with TCIS for the past 4 years and the renewal came in last week and its $100 more and all of a sudden I can’t pay quarterly anymore and they want $950 now. The policy is underwritten by Lumley Insurance group and I have agreed value of $32000 and they don’t allow flexible payment options anymore. They have given me another option to go with Allianz for $1075 but the agreed value is for $5000 less but I can pay by the month.

I have spoken to DGA and I can go with CGU and pay by the month with them for $890 which doesn’t seem too bad. I have been with CGU before and had no problems when I had to put in a claim years ago.

The main stream insurance companies don’t want to talk to me due to my many modifications and accessories. I am on rating 1 and have a good driving record how can some of you guys get insurance for so cheap?

Thanks

Try Shannons, 13 46 46. We've been with them for years. They are very good, and they don't just insure classic cars. I have my Adventra, 4Runner and my classic all on 1 policy. Retain wreck - all vehicles, free windscreen - all vehicles, choice of repairer - all vehicles, agreed value - all vehicles, accessories and modifications covered as long as they are noted on the policy - all vehicles, and off road cover for the Adventra & 4runner.

They insure harleys, street rods and street machines as well so they will insure anything most of us on here own.

Cheers

Shannons wanted to charge me $200 more for $10000 less cover than AAMI, AND I had to submit to an inspection by them before they even start talking to me, AND they wanted the car to be securly garaged EVERY night, AND were talking about possible exclusions, IE no off road, WTF!!!!

AAMI (continue) my insurance despite my massive modifications and offered $10000 more than any other company I contacted.
I wanted more cover but AAMI was the pick of the bunch for me.

$767 for $38000 cover. with a lifetime NCB (cannot lose it)
Colin.

Agree Col, AAMI for me too!, my cruiser, accessories and even the fridge is coverd on the policy whereas anyone else said put the fridge on my house and contents? WTF!! all agreed value $52k for 4WD plus the list of accessories which is as long as your arm including suspension, with a $1500 excess as the vehicle spends 9 months a year in the garage $388 all up-- cant beat that!!

I have my Cruiser insured with Affinity for market value ($55,000)

approx plus $11,000 of mods and accessories and it cost me

$561

Strangely both DGU and Affinity both use Lumley as the insurer

and yet the two quotes for identical insurance was different.

The only thing was that ALL MODS ETC be LEGAL

I just spoke to them and they will only offer me 15k market value and I will have to go through a process to get the 32k but at 32k they can do it for $795 I have at the moment. Might just go with Lumley for their 759.99

Thanks for your help I didn’t even know about these guys….good to know for when I am older and when the next renewal comes in I think

Just because you have the best of both worlds.
You have fixed the rotten apple in the barrel with yours and now have Toyota reliability. At least in the go dept.
Wont catch me doing reverse snatches so I will be okay

Wait till next year's renewal...with all the financial turmoil going on premiums will probably go through the roof.

I have been with QBE for years (everything is with them) I may pay a little more, but have had several claims over the years and they have never questioned the claim - they do accept monthly premiums

Hi
Go with DGA, i have been with them for about 10 years. ARB originaly set it up.
I have had a few claims, 1 bad 1 that was my fault and no prob's.
The $890 is around the mark of what i pay for agreed value of 65K.
Cheers Lyndon
