Hayley

If you go to the Patrol 4 x 4 Forum and search for a member there called Nizzbits, he may be able to help you with a genuine part. It will be new but his proces are pretty good.

Cheers

Hi,
make sure you get the one for your model.
I have had the series1, 3 and 4 ,the Aux sendor unit may look the same but the little resistor thingy ( technical name ) that sends the information to the gauge is different, the reason I know this, is that I had long range tanks that I swap from vehicle to vehicle, and had modified a series 3, when I went to connect in the series 4 it would not work.

Hmmm ok
well we dont have a patrol... we're putting in a long range tank and are using the rear tank off a GU patrol. Hubs project not mine (obviously). I have no idea what series the tank he got is from.....

nissian and toyota fuel gauge senders are not compatable .May be try to get sender that suits your model surf and see if it can be adapted to the nissian tank. You will have to check that the float arm travel suits the nissian tank. If its adaptable you can remove the wire from the original tank sender, run it back to a two way switch (center off) then two wires back , one to each sender unt then just use switch to check each tank.
this migth help

ps
you could use 5 core trailor wire as this would be sleeved and just use three of the wires
