I have a 200 series which I want to get converted to a dual cab.I have previously had a conversion of a 100 series done in QLD, however I need this one to be done in WA and can anyone out there recommend anyone or advise of any adverse experiences.
Regards Tony

Hi Tony,

Haven't heard of this being done - and not sure if it can! As the curtain airbags are "one piece" from front to back, they will either have to be modified for two row operation or removed altogether.

Not sure on the legality of removing airbags on an ADR compliance vehicle, but am very sure it will involve much more than just a can of worms!!!

Cheers

G'Day Tony,

It certainly can be done. Creative Conversions in Brisbane was doing their 3rd 200 series when I spoke to them last week.

Regards.

Tim.

My Patrol was converted in 2000 by a WA mob known as "TL Engineering", so they might be worth a call.

They did a damn good job....I'm the 3rd owner and it is still going strong after 8 years.

However, things like the curtain airbags could indeed be a problem I guess.

Good luck

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Dream on Mr Roach, At 6 years since the convertion, when you bought it, the whole back of the cab had to be rebuild cos the rusty cans had lived up to there name, and then had to be coated in TOYOTA paint to give it some kind of life, and for the last 3 months its been in moth balls cos the back half of the chassis fell of, more rusty tin cans.
Other than that i suggest the convertion was a great success !!!
I would recomend "TL" anytime, NOT.

Cheers Pesty

TL Eng is huge and do all the mining vehicle conversions as well as the TL motor bodies and truck bodies....very large operation for Perth.

For someone smaller I would try Laingleys in Bibra Lake.

Have seen a few of their conversions and look fantastic.

I havent had any work done myself though, this is just sugggestions.

Send a Member message to Al & Mrs Al , Al was doing quite a few 100 series dual cabs out in Romsey Vic.

Romsey is only just over an hour from the ferry dock in Melb.
