I recently purchased an ML Triton with standard 245/70R16 tyres. I would like to replace them with a set of Cooper STs. I have been told the biggest set I can put on is 245/75R16. This will mean a taller tyre by about 23 mm, and a vehicle height increase of about 12mm. I would like to go taller (and wider if possible). What would be the tallest 16" fitment without fouling on any of the body work or adversely affecting performance of the vehicle and gaining max. ground clearance ? Thanks.

Steve,
I have a Navara D40.
I went through this not so long ago. Depending on which state you live the rules are different.
Victoria is now 50mm increase in height of tyre to be legal. I put on a set of cooper St's with overall height increase of 42mm. Much better off road but economy suffered by about 40km per
tank.
The tyres just fit without fouling anything as stock but I had a
suspension lift of 50mm and it is a dream now.
Cheers

Thanks Marco. What were the various dimensions of the Cooper STs you put on ? Steve
