For those that dont know, I purchased a used DTS turbo and I/C, the turbo needing rebuilding.
Well after opening up the intake from
snorkel to airbox, having the turbo rebuilt, fitting a H/D clutch, dropping the sump off to braze on the oil return from turbo, replacing the inlet manifold with a custom built one, fitting the EGT gauge, custom made mounts for the I/C and pipe work, cutting a big hole in a perfectly good bonnet and fitting a bonnet scoop, boost controlled thermo fan on I/C today I finally rolled it out the door and tuned it all up.
And I can say what a transformation, it simply flies.I fitted a DTS turbo to my old 2.8 4 Runner and was very dissapointed with the final outcome. Not this time.Im running 11psi boost with a maximun EGT of 550deg C.But with the pyro fitted, will keep EGT's under 500 and set the alarm for 450.
