Has anybody used the synthetic winch rope as advertised on EBay from Tigerz11. It is on the following link.

Your advice would be appreciated.

I can't say much about the rope, but I can give a positive for Tigerz11.

Got a winch from him about 3 years ago and last year on our return from Bathurst Heads noticed that the clutch handle was missing. The corrugations must have loosened the bolt securing it and both were gone.

Contacted him to purchase new bolt and handle and got a reply that same afternoon that they were in the mail ...no charge. Received them 2 days later.

That's damn good service in my book.

Geoff

Impeccable service I agree Geoff but a winch that has the clutch handle fall off on corrugations! I don't really think that's a feature normally found on a quality winch ;-)

Craig, I don't think brand/quality of winch had much to do with it as the corrugations we experienced could have shaken the fillings out of your teeth. It was actually the bolt that holds the handle on that came out and Warn have exactly the same setup. (Red Loctite has solved that issue)

I realize that taking shots at Chinese winches is pretty much the norm on here, but I can attest from experience that some will bear up to some very hard work and keep on going.

Please excuse my cheap shot as I work in an industry that uses front mounted winches daily so are fairly passinate about choosing quality recovery equipment that is both safe & reliable. It's something I don't compromise on.
