Hi All
The battle for Noosa North Shore free access is hotting up, it will cost $37 a month of $185 per year to drive on this beach if the Qld Govt has its way. Makes a coastal trip to Fraser Isalnd,
Double island Point or
Rainbow beach quite expensive and cause many to think twice about "going for a spin up the beach"
Quite a significant loss of freedom for Australians I think.
Rainbow Beach Community organised a 300 Strong Convoy on
Ffriday to Protest.
Feel free to lend your support where possible.

Security is mostly a superstition. It doesnt exist in nature. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

Hi Kerry
The Permit System has been comming for a long time, they intend
to have limited numbers re: Beach
Camping and they will close off
the First Entrance on to
the Beach at Teewah, and there will be
no Access down to North Shore opposite Noosa, developers have
Plans to Build Town Houses adjacent to
the Beach, from the
First Entrance to the North Shore End, its been on the Drawing
Books for a few years, also the North Shore Resort is going to
upgrade the existing
Camping Ground to 5 Star, Knowing that
Beach
Camping will be limited, currently they only have the
Camping
Area open on Weekends and School Holidays, and the other
Council
Camping Grounds is allways busy, after going up there for
over 20 years it will be a shame to see it go that way.
Cheers
Daza

You can support by appealing to the minister for sustainability, Andrew McNamara, to keep it open and feeless.
email: sustainability@ministerial.qld.gov.au
May I suggest a nice tone and friendly appeal, rather than a negative protest ar rant, as this only discourages people.
Give reasons as to why you would like to keep using it.

Could also write a letter (not email) to the State Govt MP in your nearest electorate and suggest they won't be getting your vote if this goes ahead. If there is one thing polies DO pay attention to, it is the value of your vote
cheers
T.R.
p.s. I wouldn't object to paying a small ($5) access fee, but $37 per month (or for a day trip) sounds like an ill-disguised money grab to me.

I'm confident that many of us would support a yearly fee that included all the islands and beaches, but that is just too logical to be successfully implimented.

Yes and it could turn into a Raffle, they might only allocate so many
for each Year, first in Best Dressed, Pro Fishermen, Tourist Operators,
and Locals who live at
Teewah Village, and then the rest for a
lucky few, it has happened elsewhere.

I can think of a number of reasons why the fees are being introduced;
1 - government money grab,
2 - help developers protect their invetment
3 - limit the bad behaviour of 4wd's on
the beach.
we have little control over the first two, but only have the 4wd community to blame for the 3rd.
As you enter
the beach at north shore there is a
sign which displays a few rules.
One of them is that you must give way to pedestrians. I have NEVER seen a car stop to allow a pedestrian to cross
the beach. It may be a stupid rule but it is a rule nonetheless.
