you still running the 3.ol with no probs?
if so its confirmed what id always heard about them - one of the best motors made and if it wasnt for holden being incapable of building a properly designrd shell fior it the most reliable

Were not talking about the VL Commodore 3 litre motor are we? Cause that definitely wasnt as reliable as the old Holden motors. Might have been one of the most economical and flashest motors in its time, but there were too many problems with the motors in them VLs once they got over 150,000.

Kroozer,
As i hinted at is was merly a desighn fault on holdens behalf that caused the VL motors to crack heads around the 150k mark
when the motor was out into proper vehicle desighners bodys such as the skyline and patrol the motor proved rediculously reliable.
certainly the old holden mors were anything but with so many peple left stranded when the cardboard timing gears and distributer cogs fell apart

sorry i should elaborate-the comodores radiator is lower than the motor causing air pockets in the cooling system creating hot spots in the head leading to cracking - nearly all of them did it.
no such problem was encountered with the motor in other vehickles
