Hi
Radio 4BC Brisbane just had an interview with a woman called Lorraine who has extensive bush travel experience (in a Toyota) and has written 2 books Warts "N" All & A Pussies Tale, (spelling could be wrong).
She talked of fishing with the Outback Killer Bradley John Murdoch, but I only heard bits of the interview and it sounded like her books could be worth reading, but work got in way and I didn't get too many details between phone calls.
She may be a famous member here and I'll look like an idiot not knowing that, but that's a chance I'm willing to take.
Does anyone got any idea who she is or where the books are available from?
Cheers

Well www.fishpond.com.au turend this up:

Warts n' All
By Lorraine Welch

fishpond is an Australian online book store that is usually quite good on the obscure, at least for me that is.

And Google came up with this on Lorraine Welch,

2008 Apex Alice Springs Show Ute Muster
Feral - 1) Dan Sharp 2) Lorraine Welch 3) Sammy Hart
4X4 - 1) Grant Cawthorne 2) Lorraine Welch 3) Quinton Kessner
Chicks - 1) Amanda Hunter 2) Racheal 2) Lorraine Welch

Don't know if that makes you any wiser but hey, it's somewhere to start!

Interview online here

Not sure how long they will leave it there. Interesting. Her books are only available from the author. Her phone number is in the interview.

Thanks Geoff, for both the book site and her surname.
Should make more research easier.

Sounds like an idyllic lifestyle

That Auntie said the AB was the worst road she has been on...and she got 5 punctures along it as well.
